Our Big Mistake
By Cynthia Ruiz

A world full of trash
it's too hard to see
Through this yellow fog.
People in pain, wishing to die;
Now they think of change.
Now, when it's way too late...
Nothing's the same anymore-
not that natural smell.

The beauty of our earth, fading away,
hidden under all this trash.
Getting rewarded for the mistakes we've made-
mountains made of trash.
Sad, we can't even walk...
We just don't seem to change.
Diseases running through the air,
dirty and un-eraseable, 'cause
we are the trash we once threw away.
