Love & Nature
By Stephanie Hang
Grade 10
Oakland HS
Oakland, CA

Sit back, and think for one second.

Have you ever thought that Love and Nature have so much in common?

Like love, nature also has its flaws.
Nature is not perfect, it can be beautiful, it can be disastrous. Positives from its sunsets to its negatives from what has happened in Haiti.

Like nature, love can make you feel a mixture of emotions.
Love can make you feel like one of the happiest people in the world, love can make you cry from all the long endless fights, and love can make you struggle to reach the top.

Like love, nature is uncontrollable.
We cannot make the sky stop raining, and we cannot keep it from doing the things it does.

Like nature, love is just breath-taking. Things may happen, and we may feel sad, mad, or happy, but at the end of the day, we know that all of us cannot live without love, and that we cannot live without nature.

Nature makes our heart beat faster, just as love can.
